Mohammed Jassem Al-Sager is the Chairman of GBI. A prominent businessman and public figure, Mr. Al-Sager established and led successful international and regional conglomerates and identified opportunities for new initiatives in emerging growth markets and new business turfs. He contributed immensely to the corporate world during his career spanning more than four decades across multiple industries and business sectors.
Presently, his portfolio of chairmanships includes Dhow Capital Holding, Honeywell Kuwait and the Council for Arab and International Relations. Today he serves on the board of Atheer Telecom Iraq and he holds the presidency of the Egyptian-Kuwaiti Cooperation Council. In Kuwait, he founded and developed Al Mustaqbal Investment Company, Dhow Capital Holding, Al Azminah Holding Company, Dana Real Estate Company and Al-Jarida daily newspaper. Since 1992, Mr. Al-Sager has been a member of the board of trustees of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, one of the largest research centers in the world. Previously, he established Al-Mal Investment Company and served on the boards of Al Khaliji Commercial Bank, Kuwait Airways Corporation and Kuwait Journalist Society. In addition, he was the Chief Editor of Al-Qabas Newspaper and a chairman and managing director of Coast Investment and Development Company. He was also a Vice Chairman of First National Bank of Lebanon.
Mr. Al-Sager is an award-winning journalist, former member of Kuwait’s Parliament and was the first speaker of the first Arab parliament. During his political journey, Al-Sager was known for his support of issues promoting regional economies, social development and democracy.
Mr. Abdulla Al Rwaili is the Executive Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Gulf Bridge International "GBI" ,a service provider that owns a network connecting the world to the Middle East, serves as a catalyst for growth and is a carriers' carrier for telecom operators, ISPs and governments across the region.
Al Rwaili enjoys over 15 years of experience in the field of business transformation turn around situations and company restructuring with a proven record in successfully guiding organizations to the next phase of development , crossing the chasm and achieving measurable results, establishing synergies, and ensuring value to shareholders and customers.
In his previous experience as a Director of Shared Services at Qatar Foundation HQ, applying the best industry practices to ensure optimum Service Management delivery. Previously, he held the positions of a Strategic Sourcing Manager at Qatar Foundation. Earlier he contributed to the success of Qatar Steel by reinstating an efficient operation of Qatar Steel's plant, and contributed to the organizations’ growth. Through his journey at Qatar Steel he held three different portfolios - Maintenance Manager, RM Operation Manager and Project and Commissioning Manager.
A graduate of University of Teesside in the UK, Al Rwaili holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation and Control.
Mr. Amr Eid is the Chief Executive Officer of GBI. Amr Eid brings over 23 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications industries having worked at leadership positions for numerous global multinational companies. He enjoys a solid industry track record of achievements in building new companies, divisions and subsidiaries, creating innovative go to market strategies, driving corporate transformation and establishing sustainable industry synergies.
He won many recognitions and awards regionally and internationally over the span of his successful career. Eid holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering in addition to Post Graduate studies in Operations and Finance.
Mohamed Saro is GBI’s Chief Commercial Officer. He has extensive and versatile experience in the telecom and subsea cable fields in international markets spanning Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He has played a pivotal role in mega submarine projects in the Middle East as part of Telecom Egypt’s submarine cable business. As part of his portfolio overseeing the International Customers’ Data and undersea cable business within Telecom Egypt’s International Customers Business Unit, Saro was instrumental in maximizing the company’s revenues by capitalizing on the assets of the company’s international network that led to an overall increase in Egypt’s capacity.
Prior to GBI, Saro has held a number of industry leadership roles including Vice President of Global Data and IP Solutions at Sygmatel where his portfolio encompassed consultancy for operators, carriers and multi-national corporates across the subsea and international infrastructure value chain. Saro was also a Technical Operations Director of TEData - the largest Internet provider in Egypt and a subsidiary of Telecom Egypt.
Saro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering from Cairo University and post graduate studies in Business from the German University in Cairo.
Roland Sfeir is GBI’s CFO. Prior to joining the company, Sfeir has been a CFO for Emirates Post Group. He has over 18 years of international experience as a CFO having worked primarily for telecom and Internet companies on four continents.
Roland is a seasoned finance and operations executive and a corporate governance expert known for his ability to strategize and lead financial restructurings for start-ups, mature firms and joint ventures. During his career, Roland has led IPO planning, launched new joint ventures and built new finance functions. He has a history of profitability gains in diverse industries, including real estate development, telecommunications, Internet, media, construction, retail, manufacturing, and logistics.
Dan joined GBI in December 2009 and is the Chief Technical Officer of the Company. In this capacity, Dan overlooks technical and operational aspects of GBI’s network including construction, marine, engineering and network planning. For over 25 years, Dan held leadership roles in the telecom industry. Originally based in New York with Bell Atlantic (Verizon), he moved on to the construction and operation of the FLAG Cable system as its Network Administration Director. Dan also held various management positions with AT&T as well as other multi-national corporations in the US and Gulf region. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in the fields of planning, construction and operations of landline, mobile, enterprise and sub-sea cable systems.
