
Eng. Ahmad Mohamed AL-Kuwari – Biography
Eng. Ahmad Mohamed AL-Kuwari is a senior executive with over 24 years of distinguished experience in the IT and telecommunications sectors. Known for his dynamic and agile leadership, he has consistently driven corporate transformation, optimized organizational structures, and established clear operational frameworks.
As the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar National Broadband Network (QNBN), Ahmad has led a specialized team in advancing Qatar’s fiber optic infrastructure. Through strategic planning and innovative, customer-centric initiatives, he has steered QNBN toward significant business growth, spearheaded the development of new product lines, and launched programs that have strengthened customer satisfaction and retention.
On 20th February 2025, Ahmad was appointed Chief Executive Officer of both Gulf Bridge International (GBI) and QNBN, following a strategic integration between the two entities. His leadership during this pivotal transition has been instrumental in aligning operations, enhancing service delivery, and driving synergies across the integrated organization.
Ahmad’s career began in year 2000 with a focus on innovation and digital transformation within Qatar’s ICT sector. As E-Government Program Manager at the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology (ictQATAR), he played a pivotal role in expanding online government services, enhancing their availability, accessibility, and efficiency for residents and businesses. His strategic vision contributed to the creation of a government-wide digital infrastructure, streamlining operations and enhancing shared services across government entities. Additionally, his leadership in establishing an industry-wide funding mechanism highlighted his commitment to fostering technological advancement in Qatar.
Following his success at ictQATAR, Ahmad served as Chief Executive Officer of MEEZA, a subsidiary of Qatar Foundation. There, he successfully aligned IT services, operations, sales, marketing, and finance with the Foundation’s strategic goals. His leadership was instrumental in developing and delivering premium managed IT services, including data center, cloud, and cybersecurity solutions.
Later, as CEO of Qatar Social Work (QSW), Ahmad led a workforce of over 1,700 employees. Under his leadership, QSW achieved notable improvements in beneficiary satisfaction, employee productivity, and overall service quality through a visionary and transformative approach.
Ahmad holds an Executive Leaders Program certificate from Qatar Leadership Centre and an MBA with Merit from the University of Wales, Cardiff, UK. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Qatar University, graduating with top honors for his final project.

Gavin has over three decades of extensive management and industry experience in the development, delivery, operations & maintenance of international and domestic submarine telecommunications cable systems. Gavin has over 17 years of experience in the field and has previously held the position of Head of Subsea Centre of Excellence at BT. Gavin has extensive experience in leading large teams of engineering managers and technicians responsible for the implementation, operation & maintenance of subsea cable assets, as well as supporting the development of wholesale and enterprise products that utilize submarine cables
