In this ITW panel, GBI CEO Cengiz attended the hybrid panel to discuss current global subsea trends and predict upcoming trends in our industry. This panel discussion discussed the next gerneration of subsea cables, with specific interest in space-division-mulitiplexing (SDM). This panel also explored the increasing trend of mesh-based interconnected subsea systems and how they are able to deliver the needed network resiliency, the increase in the number of subsea cables being interconnected to terrestrial networks like GBI, as well as the intersection between subsea industry and data centres, the effects of covid on the industry, the biggest industry drivers and future plans for GBI.
