Gulf Bridge International (GBI) to Champion Middle Eastern Connectivity at International Telecoms Week

GBI IT2021-09-07T11:10:37+00:00

GBI (Gulf Bridge International), a global cloud, connectivity and content enabler, is to attend International Telecoms Week (ITW), 29th August – 1st September, so it can connect with key decision-makers within the ICT infrastructure industry and champion Middle Eastern connectivity.

Taking place at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Centre National Harbour, MD, near Washington DC, the four-day event will bring together some of the industry’s leading names to network across both in-person and digital sessions. GBI will be the host sponsor of this year’s ITW “Subsea Connect” Track, with GBI CEO Cengiz Oztelcan slated to speak on a panel to discuss current subsea trends.

GBI is uniquely positioned in the Middle East and possesses a multilayer terrestrial and subsea cable meshed smart network that bridges the East to the West and North to South. GBI’s low latency North Route runs through Turkey to major European points of presence, while its resilient South Route provides the best possible passage through the Red Sea to Italy. With both providing ultra-fast, low latency connectivity, GBI is a hub for the region and beyond. It supports a growing variety of business types which are looking to harness global connectivity. Moreover, being positioned in the heart of GCC, GBI is a hub for GCC connectivity and can provide exclusive latencies and various routing options throughout.

For over-the-top (OTT) providers, connectivity is the foundation of their offering. Delivering a first-class experience is key and that’s reliant on fully dependable connectivity into and out of datacentres. The Middle East, and Qatar in particular, is becoming a hub for content hosting, with its central location seen as the ideal base for maximising global reach of cloud services. GBI has partnerships in place with cloud and datacentre providers, including but not limited to Microsoft and Equinix, enabling for secure, low latency connectivity to datacentres in the region, as well as in Europe and Asia.

Brendan Press, CCO of GBI, comments: “We’re very excited to be attending ITW to discuss how as an industry we can work together with our partners to enable the platforms for digital transformation. The Middle East is undergoing a thrilling transition with digital leaders understanding the benefits of new technologies and how they transform business to accelerate plans and create competitive advantage. Increasingly, the region is being seen as the best location for connectivity and hosting needs, with the location being a conduit and hub for connecting Asia, Africa and Europe and delivering localised services. GBI, with its low latency and smart regional network is ideally located to serve carriers and OTT’s with flexible, competitive solutions and be the trusted partner for services across the whole region and to the International hubs.”

Gavin Rea, CTO of GBI adds: “For digital transformation to truly deliver value to all, it must be supported by strong, physical infrastructure. The electricity in your house is supported by the huge distance of cabling within its wall and global connectivity is no different. Our resilient smart network delivers international connectivity, keeping datacentres connected and enterprises with a constant flow of bandwidth which they’re using to drive innovation and collaborate globally. Alongside our partners, we’re supporting this digital revolution and we’re looking forward to strengthening and creating new relationships at ITW.”
